Emergency Vet Practice (When We’re Closed)

Whilst we would love to provide your pets after hours care ourselves, as a small team it is sadly impossible to do this alongside caring for our own (furry and non-furry!) families. We have therefore arranged for your pets to be seen by one of our after hours partners. Swale Barn Vets works closely with MiNightVet in Canterbury who offer excellent emergency care.

We know the team at MiNightVet and we have full confidence in them providing great care for our patients outside of normal hours. See below for contact details and a location map should you need them:

First impression on the phone was good, we registered our puppy over the phone, managed to get an appointment the same day for her injection, all staff really friendly, vet very nice too, no issues with parking would definitely recommend this Vets..

Swale Barn Vets have been brilliant ever since they opened. Radu is so friendly and approachable and appointments are easy to obtain. For example, today I was really worried about my young dog and phoned at lunchtime and got an appt at 3.20 (to be seen again tomorrow, a Saturday!). Wish the NHS was as good!!

I have a rescue dog from Romania. They have welcomed us and are so helpful, polite, patient, and lovely. The vet goes above and beyond. He explains everything to you, including how to use any treatments they have. They also offer a fantastic vet plan.

Great staff and a lovely vet. Appointments are quick and they do their utmost to help. We love Radu but our spaniel is a bit more hesitant but still wags her tail for him.

I have visited many vets over the years of keeping my dogs and its very hard to find a vet that still feels like they offer a personal touch and not just feel like you are patient no 4,5,6, . I went with my male cat first for a castration procedure and i was amazed to meet the team that is very friendly and helpful. Radu is amazing, he booked my boy on the next day and also has seen my other 2 cat's in the same day for flea treatment, that was an emergency for us 😳 😀. I cannot thank the team for the care they gave our Milo when he was involved in an accident. It isn't my veterinary practice but they took him in and gave him excellent care. They also supported me with sympathy and kindness. Milo was treated with respect and professionalism very efficiently and we coukdnt be more grateful We would certainly register with them based on our experience but need to stay with our present vet as he is experienced in Mediterranean diseases. We also like the family atmosphere small

I called Swale Barn Vets this morning as I was concerned my dog had possibly ingested some mouse poison. The receptionist was so nice and supportive on the phone and got me in to see the vet straight away! When we got there Radu was so calm with my Bella (who is very very anxious) and she was treated quickly and effectively and thankfully it seems she didn’t eat anything! Radu really put my mind at ease and was honest in his advice and very knowledgeable. I’m going back at the end of the month to get Bella onto their health club plan and get her jabs up to date and know she has a great vet to help look after her going forward! Thank you to everyone at Swale Barn so so much!

Although not my usual vet, Swale Barn was able to see my dog the next morning (there was a three day wait for my vet). Getting there and parking was easy, the waiting area was clean and welcoming, staff were friendly and my pup was at ease. Thankfully, the reason for the visit turned out not to be serious, and I felt the advice I got was honest and sensible, and about my dogs welfare, not making money. Radu is also up to date on neutering advice, whereas I hear a lot of vets pushing for this op as soon as they hit six months. Overall, a very positive experience, and we’re now considering moving all four of our pets to Swale Barn.

We have visited Swale Barn today and I was impressed with this clinic. Beautiful and very calming environment. Extremely polite and helpful reception. Lovely vet Madeleine Tash was very professional and super gentle with my dog. She was making sure that my dog would not have any stress there. My lovely Pomeranian felt like at home, even had some treats there. Normally he hates going to the vet, always feels anxious, but first time he was enjoying and left the clinic with the big smile! We will definitely come back there and I can highly recommend it to everyone-there is no doubt-they are one of the best!
